Architecture Design Prize
Architectural Technology Management students won the Award of Excellence in a nationwide competition for their innovative architectural design of Community Health Center for the next decade.
Top Three Internship Project Award 2008 and 2009: IBM SD
During Summer 2008, two SIU's Computer Science students, Ms. Kornschnok Dittawit and Ms. Nuttaporn Somboonsook, were selected as summer students representatives to make final project presentations on 30th May 2008 during their summer internship at IBM Solutions Delivery Co, Ltd. (IBMSD) Kornschnok's and Nuttaporn's project teams were two of the three teams to be selected. Later in Summer 2009, Mr. Sereerattapol Kamwang, a Computer Science student, also joined IBMSD for his internship. His internship project was also selected as one of the top three project. The selection was done by IBMSD managers based on performance and commitment criteria.
Best Student Project Award: Asian Semantic Web School 2008
From Dec 8-12, 2008, Ms. Photchanan Ratanajaipan, a PhD student of School of Technology, attended the Asian Semantic Web School in Bangkok. Her group won the best student project awards under topic "GiftMe", which applied ontology with gift recommendation web site. The Asian Semantic Web School aims to teach its attendees how to apply semantic technologies in their own projects and environments. There were 40 PhD students and young researchers attending the school.

Ms. Rachanee Ungrangsi, PhD Student of School of Technology, won the best student project awards from Asian Semantic Web School 2007, held as part of the International Semantic Web Conference 2007, Busan, Korea.
Five Bayer Young Environmental Envoys
From over 100 entrants Bayer Thai selects five Envoys for the 2008 study trip. Mr. Pahuton Sriwichai from CS Program, SIU, was he five best envoys selected for the Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Program. They will represent the country to participate in an environmantal study trip to Germany during November 2 – 7, 2008.
First runner-up of the Young Thai Science Ambassador Award 2008
A team of two Computer Science students of SIU: Mr. Kumpol Sricharoen and Mr. Pahuton Sriwichai participated in the Young Thai Science Ambassador Award 2008 -- Climate Change Challenge, which was a project of the National Science Museum, the British Council Thailand, True Vision Co., Ltd. and the Royal Science Society of Thailand under the patronage of his Majesty the King. The team submitted a project about global warming entitled "Save Energy, Save the World", and passed the regional round, the final round, and finally was selected as the first runner-up in this award.
Award Winning: Samart Innovation Awards 2007
SIU Computer Science student team: Ms. Kornschnok Dittawit, Mr. Adiwit Sirichoti, and Mr. Nopachat Kalayanapan, supervised by Mrs. Photchanan Ratanajaipan, a Computer Science lecturer, won the Bronze Award with a prize of 30,000 baht for a competition on mobile phone software under the Entertainment Application category. The team entered the final round with other 31 teams. "Forage the Cowardly Fish" is a software application for mobile phones, following Java's MIDP 2.0 specification and developed in Java (J2ME) language.
SIU Members Certified as IT Professionals in 2007
Ms.Rachanee Ungrangsi, CS Instructor, and Ms.Pawadee Keratichewanum, CS Alumni, have successfully passed the Information Technology Engineering Examination (ITEE) in the Fundamental Information Technology Professional (FE) Category. The certificates were presented by Dr.Saksit Treedech, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, on February 19, 2007. ITEE was established as a national examination administerd by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Japan in 1969 and it has expanded to 11 Asian countries. The examination in Thailand is organized by the Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) and the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC).
SIU Students in Software Design Contest 2005
On June 16, 2005 four Computer Club members formed a team named "SMILE" and entered the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2005 Thailand, a software design contest on the topic "Imagine a world where technology dissolves the boundaries between us". The SMILE team, which consisted of Mr. Chvavong Binhasun, Mr. Suphasis Sutthithamrongsawat, Ms. Pawadee Keratichewanun, and Mr. Nitisak Anurakarchakool, was one of the twelve final round qualifiers. In this competition, there were 111 teams from 23 leading Thai universities. They have developed an application for Pocket PCs called "Smart Media for Interactive Living Environment", which enables people to communicate with each other via any objects anywhere anytime.
BREW^(TM) Champion Award 2005
Miss Rachanee Ungrangsi, Instructor, School of Information and Communication Technology received the BREW^(TM) Champion Award at a special ceremony at the Ministry of Science and Technology on June 6, 2005. The awards were presented by Mr.Saksit Treedech, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Nokia N-Gage University Game Design & Challenge 2005
An SIU Computer Club team named "ABSOLUTE", consisting of Mr. Namphet Sattayarak, Mr. Pachra Lekdee and Mr. Adiwit Sirichoti was selected to compete in the Nokia N-Gage University Game Design & Challenge on the topic "Multi Player Gaming". ABSOLUTE has developed a game called "|Healthy|" (absolute healthy) which aims to encourage people to eat healthy food and avoid alcohol. The contest was organized by Nokia (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. and How Come Entertainment Co., Ltd. at Dhurakij Pundit University on September 3, 2005.
DTAC & Nokia i-award 2004
A team from SIU computer club, consisiting of Mr.Naresh Shahi, Mr.Muhummad Farhan Sohail, Ms.Nitika Bhardwaj, and Ms. Linh Thuy Nguyen, have developed a mobile application named "Auto-Manager" for tracking car mileage and service. The SIU team was one of the 36 first round qualifiers in DTAC & Nokia i-award 2004.
Dissertation Award 2003: National Research Council of Thailand
Dr. Chutiporn Anutariya, CS Program lecturer, won a dissertation award from the National Research Council of Thailand for the year 2003.
