Dormitories

The main concept of Shinawatra University Dormitory is to establish a “Living, Learning and Caring Center” for students to enhance their quality of life, with excellent living facilities, surrounded by a beautiful environment. All rooms are regularly cleaned and security guards are always on duty, to ensure a safe and happy stay.

We offer accommodation to every student studying at Pathum Thani Campus with two five-floor dormitories. The two dorms are a 7 minute walk from the Main Hall and a 5 minute walk to the canteen. Sports facilities can also be found nearby. These include a fitness room located within the Dormitory 2 building, a football field which can be used also for track and field events, a basketball court, and a couple of tennis courts. Table tennis and other indoor sports are either held in the Dormitory 2 or in the sports center. Laundry services are open to student customers at a reasonable charge.

Rooms in either dormitory are available at a reasonable rate, with 4 types to choose from. These are single, double, triple and quadruple rooms, which are of 36 and 42 sq. meters in area for standard rooms in Dormitory 1 and Dormitory 2 respectively. All rooms are air-conditioned and completely serviced, with computer network connections, telephone, refrigerator and hot water supply. Central facilities are also provided in each dormitory, with a TV room with wireless network connection, study rooms, pantry and recreational areas, including a karaoke room to make the students’ life more comfortable and enjoyable.

Also available in each dorm are coin-operated laundry machines/dryers. Cloth-drying hangers and racks in various indoor and outdoor locations provide further comfort for residents in both dormitories.

To further enhance students’ learning and living atmosphere, the two dormitories have prepared comfortable study rooms for individual, small-group, and large-size-group types of study in order to encourage male and female students to commingle to have discussions, share knowledge as well as do their homework, projects, and activities together.

“Relax zones” are set aside in various locations inside the dormitories for purposes such as karaoke singing, music playing, dancing, and computer use to help students ease their tension and anxiety from study.

To encourage students to maintain their spiritual/cultural traditions,

The dormitories have designated spaces and areas for prayers, meditation, chanting, sermons, and spiritual reflections. For example, Muslim students can utilize a convenient prayer room, whereas Buddhist students can use a spacious meditation and a prayer area for evening prayers and mental/spiritual cultivation to improve their conducts (thought, speech, and action).

Students staying in the dorms can have access to nursing services at night for basic care, counseling and diagnosis of illnesses. Dorm 2 is equipped with a convenient nursing room with on-duty registered nurses.

Dormitory security system
