Master of Education in Teaching English as International Language (M.Ed.TEIL)

The Master of Education (TEIL) focuses on the aquisition of practical teaching skills, the learning of state of the art theory related to language teaching, and the writing of well researched academic articles (with many of our students publishing essays in international journals). The University has strong relationships with businesses and community leaders  in Thailand and abroad, leading to highly relevant qualifications that are respected nationally and internationally. The M.ED is an advanced program, intended for current teachers, those who want to teach, and also for students who want to begin or extend a career in academic research. It may also appeal to students who need profound understanding in English structure for careers outside of teaching- such as interpreters, writers, editors, journalists, embassy officers, school administrative staff, managers/owners of language schools, and community relations officers. Classes are offered on weekends and at evenings and students may apply for part-time positions at the university to offset instruction costs.

A student can choose one of the following 2 plans to complete 36 required credits:

  • 8 courses of three credits each with a 12-credit thesis work, or
  • 12 three-credit courses within 4 normal semesters.
